I guess that the answer why Christmas is celebrated around the world is a result of combination of Christianity/Catholic\'s power, colonial history by UK and cultural toadyism.

 There are not much to say about Christianity/Catholic and colonial history because we all know about the influence of theirs however, I should mention cultural toadyism which is made by the American media.

 I think that it has been working so successful and as an effect, for example, Korean people has embraced Halloween and Thanksgiving into their live although they didn\'t understand about the meaning of those at all.
