All of Korea\'s history book explains \'Gojoseon\' which is the first ancient kingdom of Korea. Learning about our history is a matter of course for posterities, however, the birth myth of Gojoseon is the strangest fact I know. It is called \'Dangun mythology\'. Son of heaven, named \'Hwanwung\' came down to Taebaek Mountain with his servants who knew how to control rain, wind, and clouds to rule the human world. Then he married \'Ungnyeo\', a bear who became a woman and gave birth to \'Dangun Wanggeom\'. As you can guess from the name of mythology, Dangun Wanggeom founded and ruled Gojoseon. I know that this story is unreasonable in many ways, however, not a single teacher said it is not the truth. Moreover, there are specific explanations and analyses about the story in the textbook and those parts are very important in every history exam. I think the reason it exists to give extraordinary qualities to Gojoseon. Therefore, posterities will likely need the ability to regard myths as myths only.
