Should the use of species of animals be forbidden for research purposes and cruel experiments? Why? Why not?
I believe that the use of animals in research purposes and cruel experiments should be forbidden. The first reason is that human bodies are complex, and therefore using the data from animal experiments cannot be extrapolated to humans with sufficient accuracy. The second reason is that animals are living creatures. Most animal experiments not only causes the death of many animals but makes them painful until the time of their death. Animals have a basic moral right to respectful treatment. This value is not respected when animals are reduced as just a tool for scientific achievement. This belief only hardens today when there are alternative ways of animal testing such as living cells. For these reasons, I believe that any use of animals for research purposes should be banned.
