A Memory of sweat corns

My family lived in a house with a pretty large back yard in which my grandma enjoyed to grow various vegetable, edible plants, and flowers. She planted corns at the edge of the yard. One summer day when corns grew enough to bear the corn silks galore out, I enjoyed to braid them. They looked like girls standing in a line with their blonde hair neatly combed. But my grandma didn’t allow me to do this any more, saying that it would result in corns’ infertile. At that time I obeyed her grudgingly without knowing the reason, but thanks to her diligence I could enjoy eating steamed sweat corns a lot. Later when I grew up to understand how I disturbed their pollination, I could not repress my laughter. Whenever I eat steamed corns, I am falling in the nostalgia of the corns and my grandma.
