Advantage and disadvantage of technology

Technologies are being developed rapidly nowadays, and though there are many good aspects, we should also note that there are several disadvantages. The benefit of technology is that we can live wealthier and more convenient lives. For example, before 18th century, people could make only a limited number of products. However, after steam engine was invented, a lot of goods could be produced quickly and could therefore make people's lives more convenient. The disadvantage of techonology is that there are harms to the environment. Supporter of further development of technology might argue that eco-friendly technologies will be developed. But the main purpose of technology is to make our lives convenient; to make things progress faster. Mostly, during that process, polllution occurs, devastating the nature. Therefore, when developing technology, we should always consider these two different faces of technology.
