An Absurd Reason To Study English: Vanity

Why should a middle-aged man sign up telephone English service? Even he is an ex-reporter and a novelist-he hasn't need a foreign language doing those jobs. In Korea, educated one easily get to regard himself as an extra who cannot but take minor roles living on the margins of globalized age. It's like that the U.S. is the new Rome of our era, and Korean seems just skillful copycats. Is it too sarcastic? Agree or not, this is why I study English. I have started dreaming of going to the U.S. someday and learning academics like Economics, taking a taste that I'm in the center of the world. Maybe just a few month's training program in the college might be enough to me. Or I could learn more. I don't know now. This weird but firm motive is my strength. And my weakness is that I have not lived more than 6 months outside of Korea in total. Do you know Korean is the most different language from English? I must think differently entirely. I hope POWER ENGLISH will help me a lot.
