An interesting book.

A book that has affected my life the most is \"Development as freedom\" written by Amartya Sen, a winner of the nobel prize for economics. The core idea elaborated in the publication fundamentally revolutionized academic fields that have dealt with the matter of social justice and poverty. The author broadened the view point in which people associate the poverty mainly with the lack of material resources by suggesting a remarkably thought-provoking argument that redefines the poverty as the deprivation of capability. In this respect, it is plausible to say that every woman who lives in a patriarchical society is poor regardless of her financial capacity as there is the glass ceiling in the society that imposes restrictions upon women\'s social activities. So, the concept of development should be reformulated as well, which was conventionally regarded as the term underlines the significance of economic growth. He argued that the development is all about to promote an individual\'s freedom.
