The shopping malls have many sorts of merchandise so that we can buy most of the items that we want at a time without moving around. That is the reason why the big shopping malls are getting popular more recently in a retail market field. The smaller shop has weakness in this regard but it has also an advantage for gaining the customer, it is easy to access due to the close distance around a residential area. so there is some small shop called a convenient store in Korea opening around a big apartment complex.

I think that big shopping centers will be a general trend in a consumption market because it can give customers not only saving time and money but convenience on shopping. When I was childhood, the small shop was very common because it needed less capital than at now so everyone who wants to make a living in it could easily join.
