It depends on the number of person who gathered. I think that extended family gathering is caused from tradition and immediate family gathering is from personal preference. Actually, it\'s difficult to close with all extended family member. And if there\'re not a special day such as New Years day and Thanks giving day, most people don\'t prefer to meet someone uncomfortable. This is same in immediate family, but, I think it\'s more rare than extended family.
