Are policemen powerful in your country? Why or why not?

The police in my country have adequate power to enforce their duties and I know their authority is stipulated in a law. Isn’t it natural that enforcement has corresponding power to its mission committed by the public no matter what reasons for it? Anyway, I feel the police have power for the following reasons.
First, I feel the crimes in my society have been always under control, which is the attributable to powerful enforcement of the police in my country. Second, we don’t worry about walking along the street at late night. I thought all countries across the world were like my country. However, after finding out that this is not the case for other countries, I have felt proud of my country’s security. On top of that, story police force has contributed to keeping us the a country where ammunition and weapons are banned. By the way, I like the Korean police because they are not into power over society but have been trying to make their images more friendly to the public.
