We have traditional beliefs about sickness in Korean culture. First, if I get indigestion, I prick my thumb to make blood flow. Traditional Korean medicine explains that indigestion happens when blood circulation is blocked. So letting out blood can help improve circulation. Second, when I catch a cold, I drink honey water or jujube tea. We believe that warm tea can heat up the body and make us sweat, which helps us recover faster.
