I can interact with people from different cultures. As a native Korean, I graduated from a Japanese university, and this event provided me with an opportunity to collaborate with others as part of the culture. Working with people from different cultures requires me to understand and sometimes compromise with others\' understanding. I learned building a rapport through active conversation is critical. In my previous work as a customer service associate covering APAC regions, I had to adapt communication skills to retain customers. I had to go through trial and errors to better grasp the customers\' demands. Some customers agreed with a discounted rate, while others stayed by learning new functions. Therefore, I categorized regions and came up with different strategies per region. Eventually, I was able to retain 40 subscribers per month. Throughout this experience, I learned that communication is critical to understanding others\' perspectives with different cultural backgrounds.
