Arguments with coworker

I have had an arguments with one of my coworker. He was not my shift. but when I or he worked over time, we worked together. One day, It was very busy and there were a lot of tasks I had to do. But I couldn't find him for about an hour. I thought there was some reason. But about an hour later , he appeared and told me that he went to smoke. I got mad at him so that I gave him an advise that not to smoke during a busy day. he looked like to feel sorry about that. Giving an advise to someone is always hard. but If they can take the meaning of an advise, It really helps to keep the relationship well.
