As foreigner living in UK, I have gone through various adjustments. There can be cost of living, weather, language, and food. The most important adjustment would be the pace of living. As a Korean, I am used to the fast-paced lifestyle. Everything should be completed quickly without any delay. However, I had to shift my lifestyle after moving to the UK. Here everyone prefers a slower approach to the task and prioritize a more balanced and leisurely lifestyle. For example, I saw this difference in the store. In Korea, shop assistants are obsessed with making profit, so generally they want to match the high standard of Koreans. I had an issue with a clingy and submissive shop assistant in Korea. On the other hand, shop assistants in the UK are not hesitant to show their personal characteristics. Normally I have the issue of shop assistants with the lack of knowledge. Different lifestyles are what made me most stressed living overseas and now I am trying to respect their lifestyle.
