Dear my Teacher Paula, Happy Thursday! Can I ask you something that I can't understand clearly? I listed up a few questions as follows. *Substitute When I use it as a verb, how can I use that? Ex) Butter can be substituted for margarine in this recipe.  Is the meaning of this sentence that I can use butter instead of margarine? Ex) Butter can be substituted with margarine in this recipe.  Is the meaning of this sentence that I can use margarine instead of butter? Ex) Beckham was substituted in the second half.  Did he play the game instead of another player? I guess the meaning of the sentence depends on 'for' and 'with'. I am really confused about that. Teacher, please help me to make it clear. ^^;; Have a wonderful day. See you very soon!

Dear my caring [이름],

First of all, I would like to thank you for the questions you included in your composition.

They are all very challenging and interesting.

Let\'s get it on with the answers for your questions.

For the first and second examples, they are correct.

You totally gave the meanings of those sentences.

For the third one, it means that Beckham didn\'t continue playing the game.

Instead of him, another player had the second half.

I hope I helped you solve your confusion.

Enjoy reading! ^^

Sleep tight! ^^,

See you tomorrow! ^^.
