What learned in this program?

For my generation, learning a language is a tool for success such as getting a good job, entering a great university.

So, I’m familiar with only receptive skills like listening and reading.

On the other hand, YL program made me realize that in order to acquire a language in the soundest way, there are 4 skills that teachers and learners have to focus on, namely, speaking, listening, reading and writing.

This may seem obvious but it is sure that most people ignored.

So, during the YL TESOL course, I completely realized that English is a tool for communication and interaction with people and I can motivate young learners that learning a language is for a chance to open a new door to meet people from different countries.

Careful observation of children is important for me to provide appropriate materials and make good lesson plan for them.

So, I asked some questions about what they like and what they want to know about English on the first day of my class at the community center.

This was because finding children’s interest could be the starting step when they learn things SO, I closely observe each student’s multiple intelligences and try to provide materials which are based on their MI.

While doing the YL course, I’ve come to realize that I have a greater interest in developing English learning and teaching materials rather than the teaching itself.

I’m very interested in creating lesson or developing materials for all 4 skills and I think Computer Assisted Language Learning can be a good approach about it.

Actually, it was the first time that I use google classroom and I was stunned because it was totally learner centered and I could have chances for review and I also could learn things at my own pace.

So, through MA program, I want to know more about internet based language teaching such as flipped classroom.
