Good morning, Teacher! As an extension of our class, I'd like to elaborate on call center employees. Here in Korea, being a call center worker is considered as one of the hardest jobs. If we are going to determine the ranking according to the stress index, this call center job is the top. We call it 'Emotional Labor' and it means that the workers are always exposed to being mentally fatigued. Because of the anonymity, a lot of people tend to bother and bully them on the phone without any guilt. In this ridiculous situation, they are forced to smile and keep on being kind even if they are scolded for no reason by customers. Even some male customers commit sexual harassment to female call center workers. Even if they are in this terrible working environment, they can't help but do mind control by themselves in order not to lose their job. The most serious thing is that some workers committed suicide due to inhuman and degrading treatment from their company and customers. It is our reality that is happening to us every day. I think it is time to establish social security nets in order not to seeing this kind of tragic conclusion any longer. I will stop here for today and see you tomorrow!

Hello there, [이름]!
I didn\'t really know anything about the treatment that

they receive from people.

Here in the Philippines, they might be stressed but

I believe, they can handle it and I haven\'t heard any news

that somebody committed suicide because of being

a call center agent.

Let me check on that.
