Hello, teacher. Today, I will talk about the politics of Malaysia. As you already knew, in Korea, we had a very big protest last weekend. In English conversation class, I asked my teacher if there was a big demonstration in Malaysia like in Korea. She answered that Malaysia experienced several big protests because of ethnic conflicts. That led me to study the politics of Malaysia. Therefore, I am reading one article regarding Malaysia's elections. In 2013, there was the thirteenth general election in Malaysia. Before the election, there were several big demonstrations which called for a turnover of political power, from Malay based power to non-Malay based power. The former government was widely known for its differentiated policy against non-Malay ethnic group. As the former government failed the reform in Malaysia, non-Malay ethnic group started to consolidate their front and to carry out their actions. Several big protests were the result of their actions.
