When a specific task is given to you by your boss, do you follow his/her guidelines or you follow your own?
I think that most important thing is consensus between you and your boss before beginning of your work. If you just follow your own idea you never make a good result as your boss\'s expectation. On the other hands, If you just follow your boss\'s guidelines you are just follower or operator not professional.
So I think before starting working you should have consensus with your boss about his/her expectation of work. And during your working if you find something new you should discuss it with your boss or someone who can give you good advice. If you follow this, you can get a good result at your work.
