Corporal punishment

There is a old saying, 'Spare the rod and spoil the child.' Most people think we can't help inflicting corporal punishment on children to discipline or raise them right, I, however, believe corporal punishment to be stopped because its possibility of causing developmental problems, abuse of wrong practice and existence of better alternatives.
First of all, children can easily be damaged mentally or physically by corporal punishment. Because kids are in the process of learning, they can make some mistakes. If adults have patience and lead them into righteous ways children can achieve morals and values that are expected from the society. They just need more time to digest what they have learned and adjust new knowledge into their own way of living. for example, when I was little, I was a very slower learner. I could confirm that from my evaluation cards. My scores were low in general and even one of my homeroom teachers left some miserable comment on my cognitive development. I remember the teacher as a figure that had to disappear from school surroundings for students' welfare once and for all. I have no memory to be beaten by her, but after I was a university student I found out that my mother had to bribe her for my sake. My mother hoped that I wouldn't get hurt from her unfair treatment. I was getting better since I met one of my favorite teacher according to my mother. If I was punished by my performance before that time, I couldn't be who I am now.
Secondly, corporal punishment can be utilized as a way for abusing children instead of being operated as a disciplinary method. Humans are not that rational species from my own point of view. They get influenced under emotions with ease and make tons of faults that they will regret in a short time. There are always possibility that adults misuse the punishment harassing the vulnerable children who aren't able to understand why they get penalized. I'm convinced that youngsters have enough capacity to comprehend between good behaviors and wrong doings. They merely need someone to teach them through the whole procedure to obtain necessary knowledge and skills.
