costco's new decision
학생이 쓴 원문
I visited Costco when I was in Canada. Although I had been to huge Wall-Mart there, Costco was huger and it sold many kinds of merchandise in bulk. I could have saved money, but I didn't buy anything because I didn't need any item in quantities. Even after I came back Korean I have never dropped by Costco. It is located in another city from Jeonju, my hometown, and I don't want to fill my fridge frozen or canned food. I prefer to go the mall near my house to buy fresh food.
From the article, Costco decided to take the specific cards issued by Samsung. It would give customers inconvenience to carry cash on hand everytime. I understand why Costco made the policy. They want to maximize their profit not to submit credit card commission fee. However, Costco has already membership policy to charge extra to customer willing to pay additional fee, and their business is expanding every year. Why would they like to suck up every penny from our pocket even when they are ranked as a top in wholesale area?
I recognize that credit card company makes much money from commission fee, and the bill to reduce the fee was already presented to the National Assembly. The congressmen are still fighting over partisan argument in spite of the urgency of the bill. The best choice for Korean customers now is not to shop at Costco in my opinion. There are two major Korean mall that they can use anytime they want without a membership card. It makes money circulated in domestic market to boost economy in the long run.
