Do circumstances determine whether or not we should tell the truth?

I agree that the circumstances determine whether or not we should tell the truth. The small things such as I forget something to do but I'll do it soon. In that case it is fine to tell a lie to him/her "I've already done!" Especially in business, with the high-tempered client, he/she continuously call us to confirm the work or to ask some document. At that time, we usually say "Yes sir, now I just write a e-mail to send a document to you. Please hold a minute" Yes, That's not true, but both of us became happy. LOL Also, to make a good relationships with someone such as my friends and client, I need to say a white lie. If sometimes she wear weird clothes, or change her style, I need to say "you are beautiful" That make us happy. These are the reasons why I agree that the circumstances determine whether or not we should tell the truth.

To be honest, I had a hard time deciding whether it\'s a good thing to occassionally lie depending on the circumstance at hand. Almost everybody, at one time or another, has lied. In my opinion, people lie for two reasons: First, they don\'t want to get punished for their wrong behavior, and second, they don\'t want to hurt other people\'s feelings. I\'ve thought of all of the times I lied with good intentions and ending up getting caught for it. Lying may seem simple and harmless at first, but just like any addiction, you\'ll soon find yourself trapped and entangled more than you could have ever imagined. I think it\'s so much better to tell the truth in any situation, rather than try to lie your way back to the truth. People lose the people they love or the things they value when they get caught up in a lie. It\'s difficult to always tell the truth because more often than not, truth hurts.
