Do people need to "unlearn," or reject, many of their assumptions and ideas?

I think we need to unlearn or reject many of our assumptions and ideas. Because, If we don't reject ideas or assumptions, we are not able to make a good decision. Sometimes even we can't make a good invention. Especially in the science area, all the inventions are made by reject of exist assumptions. For example, if Galileo Galilei didn't say "the earth still turn", we might believe the earth is not turning. Also, if we are not suspicious the assumption about the earth has round shape, we might still believe out the earth is square. If we are not unlearn all about the ideas, especially in the marketing area we can't find a good solution for our client. But in that case, we have to be polite. It doesn't mean ignoring. That ideas also the part of brainstorming, we have to reconsider all about the ideas.

There\'s this thing we call \"comfort zone\", where people dwell and stay in because it\'s comfortable. You don\'t have to make an effort to learn new things when you are in this zone.
