Except for a few small companies still paying the different amount of money dependent on employees’ gender, not on their roles and workloads, this is almost gone in Korea.   However, there is still a big amount of its discrepancy between men and women. In my view, there are two major reasons, one to be inevitable and another to be solved.  Men take a significant advantage in many labour jobs. The stronger physical ability allows men to be able to do harder and riskier jobs with higher salaries. On the other hand, in the office rarely showing off masculinity, both of us start at the same position with the same salary. However, several years later, more women start disappearing, especially for having babies.  Here is the fact that we can’t hide. Most Koreans definitely agree that nurturing is for both parents equally, but paternity leave is hardly used though it is legal. Many Korean women are losing opportunities to utilize their great abilities and to promote with a bigger payroll.
