Do you believe we can control our own fate? How?

Why was born in Korea? Why are they my parents? How did Rose become my English teacher among many other ones? We have been living with unsolvable and unanswerable questions, and we have been surrounded by really mysterious and miraculous events since birth. Therefore, some people say,"Fate is a concept based on the belief that there is a fixed natural order to the universe. In order words, fate is defined as a power that predetermines and orders the course of events on our lives. So fate is inevitable and unavoidable." However, I can not wholly agree with the idea as long as no one knows someone's fate perfectly. Who knows whether or not someone's life has followed his fate? Even common people can predict someone's future life in general. What if someone was born rich? Needless to say, his future would be surely prosperous.
