Do you know of anyone who has suffered from the so-called "empty nest syndrome"? Have/would you?

It is completely opposite in Korea that children want to stay at their parents’ house and live together with their parents because of financial reasons, even though their parents like them to live independently. Many young people have a hard time getting a job these days due to sluggish economy and they don’t have other choices but to rely on their parents. Even quite a large number of married children live with their parents because they need someone who look after their babies. They might send their babies to daycare facility or call a baby sitter into their house, however it is costly and not trustworthy. Back in the day when the nation’s economy was mostly dependent on agriculture, children left their parents in the country side when they grew up to get a job in a big city. Parents felt lonely and missed their children. However, rapid industrialization and modernization brought lots of changes including the family structure. This somewhat odd phenomenon will persist for a while.

Happy Monday Sir [이름]! I appreciate that you shared your ideas about this topic. I guess in my case, I want to live with my parents until they grow older. It is not because of financial reasons but in order for me to take good care of them. I want to go to other country but it is difficult for me to leave them. It is better to be with my parents to make sure that they are okay. Anywa, we can talk more about this in class.
