Do you see any unfair labor practices in your country's workforce?
학생이 쓴 원문
There are major labor issues that have to be tackled by the government. The most important and primary issue here in the Korean labor market is the different treatment of regular and irregular workers. The number of irregular workers in South Korea grew to an all-time high in this August. The August figure made up 32.4 percent of the country’s total workforce of 18.78 million. Many employees in Korea are non-regular workers and they receive less salary and benefits than regular workers although they do the same job as regular workers. They also suffer from job security since they can be easily laid off when business experiences a downturn. Another issue the income gap between male and female workers. The effective reduction of the wage gap between male and female workers will be a key barometer of whether Korean society has reached a substantive gender equality. Female workers also still feel a glass ceiling when get promoted since their employers prefer male workers.
