Do you sometimes laugh in situations that are not amusing?

It seems that I have two kinds of laughter.
The first laughter is the real one which is made in amusing situation.
The second one is the laughter in uncomfortable situations. I sometimes use laughter to make an awkward atmosphere better.
These two laughters have very different sounds.
