Do you think alternative medicines work better than modern drugs?

I have two opinions on the statement that alternative medicines work better than modern drugs. One opinion is that alternative drugs can work better than modern ones. Many new medicines has been invented and it will also have been made all over the world. And their ability to cure a certain disease will have improved due to the development of technology. So, it is possible to treat a disease that we have not cured in the future. In other words, alternative medicines work better than now. On the other hand, the other one is that future medicines will not work better than modern drugs. Since people have already invented and used medicine, the virus that can cause a disease has been adapted for these medicines, and it is getting stronger. Moreover, it is possible to be occurrence of new diseases in the future. Thus, alternative drugs will not be able to be perfectly useful. In that respects, I cannot say that alternative medicines absolutely work better than modern drugs.
