Although we are all living together with other people and our lives could be directly or indirectly affected by the people who surround us and by external factors, we still can create our happiness. Things could change depending on how we think. Think about a half glass of water: is it half empty or half full? Which side are you on? Are you positive or pessimistic and sarcastic? There are no absolute conditions for happiness. Happiness does not require us to have certain level of wealth, intelligence, or social status. Taking a look at the statistics about ranking of the happiest country in the world. Many countries that are economically undeveloped and poor outrank other advanced countries. We have to appreciate what we have rather than feel miserable not to have more. Our joy lies within us, and now is the time to manifest it. What I said above is the schoolbook story. However, can we really feel free from such materialism?
