I don\'t think people who own and run casinos are criminals or conmans. Casinos may have different purposes, but some may come to enjoy their time and others may come to make money. But I think all the responsibility is the person who uses the casino himself. However, if the people who own and run casinos didn\'t have any illegal manipulation for their own benefit. Lost is the past tense of \'lose. In your class on February 14, you used the following. \"When you are lost in a new place.\" Two verb \'are\' and \'lost\' were used. It seems to have used \'lost\' as an adjective. I want to know when to use verbs and sometimes to use adjectives. Please explain this in detail. What is the difference between the next two sentences? Could you please help me out? Could you please help me?

Hello, John. ^^

I will try my best to explain these in the best way possible.
Let\'s start with the word \'lost\'.

The word \"lost\" as a verb or an adjective depends on the context of your sentence. When we use the word lost as an adjective, we usually connect it with a be-verb (is, are, was, were, am, been, being and more). So \'lost\' is a verb-link adjective.

For example:

Are you lost? / Ally went to Korea and lost her way. - Lost here is the state of not knowing where you are.

I lost the bet.- Lost is used as the past tense of lose, which means the person did not win the bet.

Let\'s go to your second question:

We use \"could you help me out\" when you are asking for a favor that your really need, and you are subtly begging the person politely to help you.

We use \"could you help me\" when we are asking for a regular favor.

Both are acceptable, it is your personal preference which one you feel like using in your conversation, depending on the degree of your needs.

Hope this helps. ^^
