It does not make sense at all that humor is the best way to resolve conflicts. Often, the best way of taking the tension and stress out of the situation is by injecting some humor. You can defuse a tense situation with a joke or a humorous anecdote that may allow the other party to understand your side of the disagreement. This can be used by a mediator or by a conflicting party. However, it's important to avoid jokes that may either belittle or offend a party, and don't always expect humor to work as it depends on the individual. Your attempt of making a joke can be perceived by the other party as you do not take the situation seriously. It can upset your partner and it can make the situation worse. In many conflicts, just listening could solve the problem. Listen for what is felt as well as said. When we listen we connect more deeply to our own needs and emotions, and to those of other people. Listening also strengthens us, informs us, and makes it easier for others to hear us.

Indeed, humor doesn\'t resolve any conflicts but then it lightens the mood in a situation.

Have a great day!

See you!
