Essay: Lucille Ball “In life, all good things come hard, but wisdom is the hardest to come by.”

I agree with this quotation. Things we obtain easily have a tendency to go away easily too. Lessons that learned with the hard way are never forgotten and wisdom is the hardest one to learn. This is because wisdom is not only a collection of knowledge but also including insight, unbiased judgment and benevolence. Therefore, to come by wisdom, we need to have a lot of experience. We are not afraid of making mistakes since we learn a priceless lesson from a mistake. We also need to be modest and practice forgiveness since wisdom is based on compassion and humanity. In addition, we always stick to righteousness since wisdom is derived from justice. One example of a wise person who has both knowledge and righteousness is the Mencius, a Chinese philosopher, who taught kings to guide people impartially and virtuously. Fortunately, I have several good mentors who give me an opportunity to enhance my (humble) wisdom.
