I agree that we can learn more from finding out that we have made mistakes. I have two reasons for that. First, we can not repeat mistakes which we have done because we have already experienced. Our brain remember that we have already made mistakes. So, we won't do something again to avoid bad results. Second, though we suceed some works, we forget the process that we experienced easily. So, when we are in same situation, we could make mistakes easily. But if we have made mistakes and learn something from that, then we couldn't forget what we experienced and make an effort to repeat again.

Yes, I also think that we cannot commit the same mistake because if ever we are in the situation again, it will be your choice whether to do the right thing or not.
