Yes, I have written a story but I think it is more close to a prose. Because it is a book review. In the middle school, a book review is so common. Maybe, most of middle school students have written book reviews. Also, it is a test, so, many students do their best to write perfectly. Writing a story or a prose is very difficult for students but through it, students can be developed. I believe it is the reason why many teachers put it up a test.

I agree that teachers include writing as part of the test. In the Philippines, it is common to write essays about the stories read or lessons discussed in the class.
Writing book reviews is a common class project as well! I do not mind writing, but handwriting a 15-page book report was too much for me, so I begged my teacher if I could type it instead. Have you experienced something similar before?
