Good afternoon! It's a nice Wednesday. Are you enjoying your lunchtime? Anyway the weather is too hot. It is so humid and sticky. I better turn on the air conditioner. Actually I don't want to turn on that because it cost too expensive. However, I can't tolerate only with fan. Anyway have a nice day~~ Here is my essay. The lecturer discusses value of old buildings and argues that it is more valuable than people think. This contradicts the reading passage's claim that commission greatly exaggerates the value of old buildings. First, she argues that it attracts many tourists to the city. It not only develop tourism but also as tourists spend a lot of money that it can make city's economy better. This casts doubt on the reading passage's claim that maintaining these old buildings is extremly burdensome. Second, she claims that many old buildings have been already restored or restoring. So people don't have to worry risk about old buildings. This counters the reading passage's claim that these old buildings contributes to a lower quality of life for city residents. Last, she points out that there are a lot of buildings in the world that are compatible with new buildings like Amsterdam. It makes a good harmony and make a scene look good. This refutes the reading passage's claim that traditional design of the old buildings is incompatible with aesthetic tastes of contemporary society.
