I think being an open-minded person is really difficult. This is because everyone have somewhat the aspects of timidity and sometimes, they should strive continuously to become an open-minded person. It also depends on cultural and individual difference. It means Western people have much more opened than Asian people due to their cultural difference as well as the magnitude of open-mind is different in individual due to the personality. Anyway, when it comes to the advantages, an open-minded person can make a friend more easily. They can approach to others and can have a cinversion more simply. Also, they can accept other's thought and can consider other's mind more generously. However, these opened relationship between people sometimes make him/her to be exhausted. This is because a lot of relation might yield diverse problems. I think this is the only disadvantage of being an open-minded person.
