I totally agree with the situation that you have given.

I have students who are so young and their mothers are pushing them to study though they do not have the motivation to do so.
Honestly, I am pissed off by that but I also pity my young students.

They have to study not because they want it but because they are forced to do it.

To have a good foundation of studying another language, the mother tongue should be learn first before going to another thing.

When I was young, I did not have the interest to learn English.
Honestly speaking, I got interested to learn English when I went to college since my major is English language and literature.

I used to regret that I should have studied English, earlier.

So, I think that a kid is faster to learn English than an adult.

 In my case, I felt needs to learn English by time goes.

 In fact, I did not feel to learn English, when I was young.

So, I think that it is hard to give a motive to a kid why they start to learn it, when they are young.

But, if we could give a kid a situation to speak English, naturally, they would learn it faster and better than an adult.
