Here\'s my answers for the first and second question you have.

1. For sentence no. 9, you need to use I.

\'Know\' is not actually the same as \'thinking\'. On the sentence \' I know what to do.\'- it implies that the doer of the action is absolutely certain about what he needs to do since it has been established or has already been fixed in his mind or memory. So, it is something that the doer (which is I) already has.

While thinking is actually the process of having your own thoughts, idea , belief or opinion. For this, you will use \'I am\'. Like, \' I am thinking of what needs to be done.\'

And you should always remember that whenever you use \'I am\' with verbs, usually the verb next to it would be in a present tense. Just like: I am trying, I am working, I am wondering. Even if you use \'I was\', the verb next to it would be in a present form. Just like in sentence no. 8 where you can use I am and I was.

2. For the abbreviation of the word number, you should use No. and not Nu.

No. is the official abbreviation for it in the English language. It\'s plural form would be Nos.

Trivia: No. was derived from the Latin word for numbers which is numero.
