What is the minimum voting age in your country? The minimum voting age is 19 in global age in Korea. Anyone who passed their nineteenth birthday can take part in national vote. However, there is a ironic thing here and it has been also hot-potato for now. As you know, every men in Korea should serve in a military as a mandatory duty. The important thing is that they start their service from eighteen-years old. Although people usually apply their service field and time that they want. Somebody ask, "Why is a duty coming ahead than a right?" This issue not only show the superficial difference, but also the symbolic meaning between right and duty against a nation. One of minor parties sued this problem just before president election, but it wasn't legislated at that time. Because it would be favor to minor parties that have a progressive tendency and usually the young students also support the progressive party. Anyway, I just think that duties and rights always should come together.
