HOMEWORK FOR TODAY: What does the idiom \"go the extra mile\" mean? I didn\'t know the idiom\'s exact meaning, so I guessed it. I thought it means \"someone overacts on some occasions\", like that you do something which is not needed to be done. However, my assumption was partially right. I searched the idiom on the internet and I found that it means \"do more than expected\" and people tend to use it in a positive way. For instance, When you had a job and you\'ve done more things than your job, you could say that you went the extra mile. If you do it every time, you could say that you go the extra mile to your co-workers and managers.
