Mr. [Name] arrived in New York in May 10 at eight o’clock in the evening. He decided to call his uncle who lived on Fifth Avenue. He got on a bus at the
station and put his fare into the farebox. The bus was very crowded, so Mr. [Name] had to stand up all the way. When he reached 85th Street, Mr. [Name] got off the bus and walked a short distance to the apartment building of which his uncle lived. He knocked in the door of his uncle’s apartment. He waited for a few minutes, but no one came at the door. He was disappointed to find no one at home. He didn’t know where to go because his uncle had promised to reserve a room for him at a downtown hotel. He saw a bench at the end of the hall, and he sat down on it to wait for his uncle.
