Hangul was created in 1443 but it wasn't used commonly. High grade person used Chinese character and womon or low grade person used Hangul. It was influenced by the Confucian culture in China. Even if my name can be written by Hangul, It has a meaning of Chinese character and can be written by Chinese character. My name is 지영 이 in Korean, Ji young [이름] in English, 知英 李 in Chinese. My name doesn't have any meaning in Korean but It has the meaning in Chinese. Ji means intelligence and young means floral leaf. I understood that my name is meaning of wisdom and beautiful. My korean name is very common. I have met a person who have a same name everywhere. Even guy has a same name. I wanted to change my name when I was young but, I gave up now. Thank you for giving a time to think of my name.
