What do you think is the rationale why Children's Day is considered a national holiday in South Korea while Parents' Day isn't? Do you think it should be considered as a national holiday? Why or why not? I think Children's Day was made as a national holiday because children are important to Korea. Children are the future of the country. They have lots of potentials. We ,as adults, have an obligation to protect children and support them to find their own way. There is another possible reason for this. Children's day became a national holiday so as to let parents take their day off to spend time with their children. As you might be aware, Korean people tend to work late, so they don't have much time to play with their children. In this regard, I think Parents' Day should be considered as a national holiday to make it possible for people to spend more time with their family.
