Mencius explained them all in the same way although each of them was raised to an emperor in a different way such as A, B, and C. This means that Mencius matched up them all with the Confucius ideal political leader having both virtue and accomplishments. In this process, he used the notion of heaven(天) positively. In the Mencius(book), heaven provided metaphysical grounds to make a virtuous man achieve success. Through this heaven's role he succeeded in empirically proving his own thought that a virtuous man would be a emperor.
