Anyway, for me to explain the answer, Clauses are groups of words which have meaning but are often not complete sentences.Some clauses begin with the word \"when\" such as \"when the rain stopped...\"These clauses are called when-clauses, and they are very important.When-clauses are important because they always happen first when both clauses are in the SIMPLE PAST.It is not important whether \"when the rain stopped\" is at the beginning of the sentence or at the end of the sentence.However, if the sentence is like this:Paul rode his bicycle to work when the rain stopped.First, the rain stopped, and then, Paul rode his bicycle.On the other hand, if the sentence is like this:Gloria was riding her bicycle to work when the rain stopped.First, Gloria was riding her bicycle, then, the rain stopped.It means that Gloria was riding her bicycle while it was raining until the rain stopped.So, GLORIA got wet ont he way to work.
