Homework#6
학생이 쓴 원문
Hi, teacher! Today is tuesday night.. Did you have a good day?
I have a question about speaking english.
Nowadays, I am studying speaking english using England drama Shelock Holmes.
In drama, The man say \\\" I just going home to get my umberlla.\\\"
But, I can\\\'t hear sound about word \\\"to\\\" infront of word \\\"get\\\".
The natives don\\\'t speak \\\"to\\\" sound, don\\\'t they? or They make sound \\\"to\\\" but i can\\\'t hear that.
HW#1 Can we have happiness without sadness? Explain.
Here is my opnion.
I think we can\\\'t have happiness without sadness.
Sadness is like darkness but, happiness is like bright light.
I like phrase that \\\"you have to go into the dark to shine light\\\"
It means that happiness is bound to coexist with sadness.
In other words, Sadness can make happiness.
If we don\\\'t know emotion about sadness , also we don\\\'t know what is happiness.
That is just my opinion..
I think I was so serious...HaHa.. See you we wednesday~
Ah, If i use words or sentences which are rude, Could you tell me?

Hi Jonathan!
I had a good day yesterday. Thank you for asking. I\'m sure you had a great day as well.
I appreciate you asking question about English. First, Sherlock Holmes is an England drama and so they use BRITISH ENGLISH.
Comparing to AMERICAN ENGLISH, there are differences in words used, accent, and pronunciation. You have to choose which accent you want to follow. And you have to focus in one accent ONLY.
This is to avoid confusion. I recommend you American English because it is widely used but well, it depends on which you are comfortable with.
The correct sentence for that is, \" I am just going home to get my umbrella.\" We cannot put \"to\" after \"get\" because it will make the sentence incorrect.
Also, natives speak \"to\" but sometimes the sound changes so maybe you aren\'t aware of it. When letter \'t\' is between vowel sounds, it\'s usually enunciated as \'d\'.
Most of the time, you would hear the letter \"d\" instead of \"t\". Examples are the words, \" water\", \" go to \" , and \"get to\". I hope you got it!
Anyway, here are my corrections.
I think we can\\\'t have happiness without sadness.
>> I think we can\'t have happiness without sadness.
Sadness is like darkness but, happiness is like bright light.
>> Sadness is like darkness, but, happiness is like bright lights.
I like phrase that \\\"you have to go into the dark to shine light\\\"
>> I like the phrase, \"You have to go into the dark to shine light.\"
It means that happiness is bound to coexist with sadness.
>> Correct!
In other words, Sadness can make happiness.
>> In other words, sadness can lead to happiness.
If we don\\\'t know emotion about sadness , also we don\\\'t know what is happiness.
>> If we don\'t know the feeling of sadness, we will never know the feeling of happiness.
See you today! So far, I didn\'t hear any rude words from you. I think you\'re an open minded person so I really appreciate it. Thank you!
