Hello, teacher.
Today's compositions are a little long. ^^
Is it not possible to eliminate poverty? Why or why not? Give an example situation.
As the Korean old saying goes, "The poverty is incurable."
This means that a state has some limitations to eliminate poverty.
I think this saying is partly right, but also partly wrong.
The poverty is resulted from both a person and the system surrounding him or her.
For example, let's suppose that you are born to a poor family.
In this case, you can't have enough opportunities to get a higher education, which can lead you get a better job in the future.
Of course, it's not impossible that you overcome this poor environment, but it's very hard.
I admit a state can't eliminate poverty, but I believe a state can alleviate poverty through some policy improvements.
The national basic livelihood security law in Korea, which was proposed by the former President, [이름] Dae Jung, is one good example of these policy improvements.
