Hello, teacher. Thank you for empathizing with me about sad news. I totally agree with Parekh's idea that hate speech shouldn't be allowed in the public sphere. His argument is very persuasive not only logically but also emotionally. It is therefore hard to find any weakness in his article. However, I think he needs to reinforce his arguments strategically in order to convince more people. In my view, he develops his arguments in terms of community, therefore he tries to prove the negative effects of hate speech in the light of community. I admit that hate speech's influence to community is considerable. However, this is not enough to convince those people who are uncooperative in community. In my opinion, it is better to put forward the claim directly that uninhibited free speech can violate your right, and will violate it soon. Parekh's way of convincing that community's stability and harmony would make us enjoy the right to free speech is circuitous approach for them.
