I think the museum shows well about the features of the country people visit to because there are lots of the heritages and well written history of the country and it will help visitors understand some places they visit in easily. In my experiences, when I traveled to China and Taiwan I also visited historical places and museums which were about their heritages and history, and museum staffs gave me an explanation of the stuffs and stories. It was very helpful to understand the place and more enjoyable. It is why most travel agencies always involve the course of touring museums or historical places.
